“Kenny brings a rare blend of pragmatism and perspective to every conversation. He has an exceptional ability to examine complex issues from all angles, creating space for honest dialogue, while helping people see one another with clarity and respect. His work is grounded, balanced, and focused on meaningful progress rather than pushing an agenda. I always enjoy his perspective!”
“Kenny is top notch! His ability to navigate tough conversations without alienating his audience is a testament to his deep knowledge base and comprehensive understanding of the real-world challenges law enforcement officers face.”
Kenny is the true definition of a leader. He challenges and pushes staff to think outside the box, explore their own thoughts, and encourages them to improve themselves. I have personally watched myself grow from the conversations we have shared.
We are so proud of everything you and (your team) are accomplishing; it’s truly making a difference. As others struggle, we seem to be pushing ahead, it’s become part of who we are as an agency. Your approach works! Training, education, awareness, and courage works!
The Oregon State University Alumni Association recognizes Kenny as a 2025 OSU Changemaker. Through mutual respect, open dialogue and shared humanity, he is moving conversations away from shame and blame toward progress, helping to ensure systems honor people’s rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
I was very impressed and inspired by the man that we met at Community Outreach, Kenny. The BEST Summer Bridge Program is an immersion program designed to help new student athletes adapt to the college environment by learning to balance academics and sports.
Kenny is mature, balanced, compassionate, and thorough. He exemplifies the effective combination of high-level clinical skills and that elusive therapeutic standard of "non-possessive warmth". He has been a great resource and supportive colleague for me on many matters, but especially dealing with very difficult clients we have shared, and especially building and managing rapport with that challenging client.
I've never heard (Kenny's) perspective before. He really challenged me and has given me something to think about. Thank you!
Kenny's outside of the box thinking and willingness to push people, both clients and staff, outside their comfort zones creates and environment of change and growth.
Kenny's activities, the privilege and string exercises were thought-provoking and in particular I enjoyed the (debrief) conversations around them.
I think about your words every day!
You aren't afraid to ask the hard questions that others seem to be thinking but hesitant to ask. You do not shy away from uncomfortable conversations. In fact, I see you willing to push people outside of their comfort zones in order to better serve clients and the community. I appreciate your willingness to push people and professionally confront inconsistencies in providing high quality care. While this often makes people uncomfortable, it is necessary in order to continue to move forward.
Of all the participants, Kenny stood out immediately
I have found Kenny's perspective and participation to be the most valuable. When he speaks or asks a question, I listen.
I have had the pleasure of witnessing Kenny communicate both with clients and with staff and have been impressed by his ability to express information clearly, even when it may not be the popular opinion. He doesn't shy away from difficult conversations and articulates and represents his opinions professionally.
As someone who has felt conflicted, working for a law-enforcement agency, knowing there are departments like DEI and change-makers like Kenny gives me a reason to hope for continued improvement and accountability.
